Your neighbourhood, your privacy
You can browse without an account. We do not keep browsing, map movement or search history on our servers. This browser tab remembers your last map view to restore it after a reload. Exact geolocation stays on your device; map requests use rounded shared geographic bounds.
Postcode searches are checked with Postcodes.io without account details. OpenFreeMap supplies the basemap and receives tile requests revealing the map area and your network address. These providers have their own privacy policies.
Accounts store your name, email, security credentials, optional profile photo and explicitly saved preferences. Your default avatar uses Gravatar, which receives a SHA-256 hash of your email and your network address. Uploaded photos are resized, stripped of image metadata and kept in private account storage; replacing, removing or deleting your account removes the stored photo. Saved area centres are rounded; push subscriptions are optional, encrypted at rest and deleted when disabled. You can delete your account through your profile.
Police locations are approximate and use reported months. Missing coverage does not mean no crime. Any “Possibly related reporting” is an uncertain association, never confirmation of an incident.
Public fuel price changes are retained for six calendar months, including the price active at the boundary. Crime and permitted news metadata are retained for 24 months. Provider calls and AI matching use public data without account identifiers.
Offline storage contains the public shell and public responses for recently viewed and nearby areas. A bounded device database records public request URLs for background refresh. Account pages, saved areas, push keys and security responses are never cached by the service worker. Removing the installed app or clearing site storage clears this local public cache.
Application error messages exclude upstream response bodies and credentials. Hosting providers may retain operational network logs under their own policies; these are not used for movement profiling.
